Porsche is a brand steeped in deep automotive history. Celebrating their 75th anniversary this year, one of the most alluring special editions to roll off the line in recent times must be the 911 GT3 RS Tribute to Carrera RS Package. Paying homage to the original 1973 Carrera RS which in Touring trim provided race car performance in relative road comfort, the new 992 variant seems a fitting book end. Complete with active aero the giant wing harkens back to the radicalness of the original “duck tail”.
When developing the uniqueness of this special edition, Porsche must have known they couldn't thrust the Carrera RS mnemonic on just any car. It would have to be something special. And in usual fashion, Camisasca Automotive Manufacturing was entrusted with a piece of the bespoke Stuttgart puzzle.
Per Porsche Newsroom, the PCNA package treats its owner to an array of special touches:
The Tribute to Carrera RS Package includes unique styling elements for both the exterior and interior, a bespoke Porsche Design timepiece and several accessories specifically created for the car. Those accessories focus on the details and include a custom car cover, RS valve stem caps with script in Python Green, key caps in Python Green, custom license plate frames and a pair of 1:43 scale model cars.
Crafted from genuine 2mil carbon fiber composite, our Tribute to Carrera RS limited edition license plate frames will appear as a part of the vehicle delivery package for each Tribute to Carrera RS delivered to lucky North American customers. The custom Python Green aluminum domed nameplate was specifically color matched to the car, thanks to support from the local Porsche Irvine team. Limited to just (150) cars, these lightweight one-of-a-kind frames are destined to be highly coveted just like the special cars they represent.
